Prayer

Prayer is central to the life of every believer and the church. At St James we offer different ways to pray:

Morning Prayer Online

We currently have short online services of Morning Prayer at 9am every Monday, Wednesday and Friday.
You can access these services by clicking on the button below.
Click here to join Morning Prayer
You are warmly invited to participate in these services. To join us, you will need two things:
  • Zoom, which is free video-conferencing software. No technical expertise is needed to install this; simply follow the instructions after clicking on the button above. There is also a Zoom Cloud Meetings smartphone app (Apple/Android). If you do have any technical questions, please contact Matt. These meetings are password protected; please consult your Weekly Email for the password, or contact us.
  • The words for Morning Prayer. These can be found here, or you can download the Daily Prayer smartphone app (Apple/Android). We also occasionally use Prayer During the Day, which can be found here, or you can download the Time to Pray smartphone app (Apple/Android).
What is Daily Prayer?
Services like Morning and Evening Prayer, Prayer during the Day, and Night Prayer are designed so that they can be said by individuals or in a group. To pray is to make our hearts ready to experience the love of God in Jesus Christ through the power of the Holy Spirit. Praying regularly will help us to develop a spiritual rhythm. A discipline of prayer changes the way that we think about our lives, because it creates new habits of heart and mind. Prayer opens us more deeply to the transforming grace of God. We enter into God’s presence, allowing the Holy Spirit to pray in us.

Prayer Email

If you have a personal prayer request that you would like us to pray for, please send it to prayer@stjames.nl. The request will be sent to a small number of people on our prayer team who will then pray for your request. These requests are confidential, and will not be shared with anyone outside of the team.

Prayer Ministry Team

We also offer prayer ministry after our Sunday services. If you would like prayer after the service, please speak to Matt or go to the members of the prayer ministry team who are seated at the front of the church, near the doors.
