Prayer at St James

Prayer is central to the life of every believer and to the life of the church. At St James we offer a few different ways to pray and to receive prayer. If you have any questions about prayer at St James, please contact Poornima Whomsley (Ministry Coordinator) at [email protected]

Prayer Ministry Team

On Sundays when there is Holy Communion (usually the first and third Sundays of the month), our Prayer Ministry Team is available to pray with or for anyone who would like prayer. Please speak to a member of the team after the service, or come forward when invited.
For specific dates, please see the Diary page.

Online Prayer Meeting

Every other Wednesday at 8pm we gather online for one hour to pray for the life of St James.
These meetings are a simple but vital opportunity to bring the church before God in Scripture, thanksgiving and intercession. Everyone is welcome.
Prayer requests are welcome too via [email protected], or through the “Prayer for St James” group in the church app.
For dates and the link to join, please see the Diary page or read the Weekly Email.

Prayer Email

If you would like prayer, you are warmly invited to email: [email protected]. Your request will be shared confidentially with a small group of people who will pray for you.

If you would prefer to speak to someone, or would value a pastoral conversation or visit, you are also very welcome to contact:
Rebekka – [email protected]
Matt – [email protected]

Freedom in Christ Course

From time to time we run the Freedom in Christ course at St James.
This course is designed to help Christians grow in their understanding of who they are in Christ, and to find freedom from patterns of thinking or behaviour that may hold them back. It combines teaching, reflection, and prayer, and includes an opportunity to receive personal prayer ministry in a safe and supportive setting. Many have found it to be a helpful and significant step in their journey of faith.
If you would like to find out more, or to express interest in joining a future course, please email Poornima: [email protected]
