Being the church of St James is a real team effort and everyone has a part to play. Our concern is not just that everything 'gets done' but that everyone participates so that we can be blessing to one another. So we will regularly be posting vacancies here. Audio/Video Team Member

We need people who can come in early on a Sunday (9.45ish) to set up the sound and video equipment: laptop, microphones, band equipment, etc. If you'd like to help but aren't sure you'd know what to do, then send us and message and we'll be happy to train you!

We are hoping to run an Alpha Course in 2023, and we are looking for a number of people who want to join the Alpha team. Alpha is an 11-week course that creates a space, online or in person, where people are excited to bring their friends for a conversation about faith, life and God. We need a group of volunteers for various tasks: leading conversations, practical help, administration, hospitality, marketing, etc. The dates for the course are still to be determined.

Are you interested in topics surrounding green living and green faith, climate issues and stewardship to creation? And do you like to write? Why not join the Green Team as our newsletter editor. We're looking for someone to write the Green Team's contributions in the weekly St. James newsletter. Your job would be to find a weekly green topic to write about, and deliver a 50-200 word article.

The Sunday Setup team comes in early (9.30am) to set up the hall for church: chairs, instruments, altar, banner, notice board, tables, etc. If you are an early starter and practically minded, then please consider joining this team!

We need a Social Media Coordinator to oversee our social media, which is one of the primary ways in which we connect and bring in new people. The role involves a lot of creativity: thinking about new ways to use our social media, designing graphics and texts, and posting to our platforms. Do you spend too much time on your phone? This might be for you!

Prayer ministry is offered during Holy Communion or after the Sunday service. In pairs members of the Prayer Ministry Team are very happy to pray with you.
For this role you will be required to follow online safeguarding training up to Foundations level. No safeguarding check is necessary.
