Do you enjoy keeping people informed and connected? We're looking for a volunteer to help us get our Weekly Email out to the St James community each week — a role that can be done entirely from home, on your own schedule.
What's involved Each week, you'd be putting together and sending our community email via Mailchimp. This includes gathering content from Matt and other contributors, incorporating illustrations from our design volunteer Vera, writing short blurbs about upcoming events and news, and making sure everything is ready to go out on Wednesday morning. Alongside this, you'd keep our church website (www.stjames.nl) updated with relevant content, and manage the church calendar in Google Calendar. We estimate this takes around two hours per week, spread however suits you. What we're looking for As the role involves writing for a community audience, we're ideally looking for a native English speaker with a good eye for clear, warm communication. Beyond that, you don't need any formal qualifications — just a reasonable comfort level with everyday tech and an eye for detail. Ideally you'll have some familiarity with tools like Mailchimp, Canva, and Weebly (our website platform), or be willing to learn. All you need is a laptop and an internet connection. Why it matters The Weekly Email is one of the main ways our community stays connected — to services, events, and one another. By taking this on, you'd be playing a quiet but genuinely important role in the life of St James. If this sounds like something you could offer, we'd love to hear from you.
