St. James’ Church employs a full-time youth pastor, Adam Oxborrow, to help provide an environment for young people to be able to hear the gospel faithfully taught and have a chance to investigate for themselves, ask questions and come to know Jesus as their Lord and Saviour.
Our desire is for them to grow into godly men and women, integrated into the church, prepared for living in the world and committed to sharing their faith with others.
We believe the best way to live is God’s way, even though it can sometimes be hard. That’s why it’s good to meet up with others, have fun, share and grow together.
When we meet

What we do
Our Friday nights are always filled with fun and often food too! We have game nights, quiz nights, or might watch a film together, have a cooking competition or we might go somewhere for bowling, a game of laser tag, ice-skating or swimming. On Sunday morning we meet together and enjoy the opportunity to explore our faith, open the Bible, learn how God’s word can help, teach and encourage us. We also play games, and chat together.
St James is committed to the well-being of all young people in our congregation, and operates in accordance with safeguarding best practice and Diocese in Europe regulations. Our youth pastor Adam has a dedicated team of helpers, they are recruited and trained accordingly, and on any Sunday or midweek activity there is a minimum of two adults present.
Come and see for yourself and enjoy meeting new people.
