Planned Giving Scheme

Why be part of the St James Planned Giving Scheme?

Planned giving is a commitment to make regular donations to St James via bank transfer or the weekly offering.

It is an aid to the discipline of regular giving.  Your gift continues even when you are away.

The pledge forms provide a means for the church to plan its budget.  In such a transient community it is very difficult to predict income levels.  Knowledge of your intended giving is therefore, extremely useful to the church council and its planning for the year.

“For with the measure you give,
will be the measure you get back”.

Luke 6:38

Please pray about how much you should give to the church.  The amount you give is your decision in the light of your discipleship.  Everyone’s circumstances vary so no ‘standard’ or “target” can be set.

St James is a transient church.  A faithful few have been here since the church was established and some have been worshipping with us for a long time but some are only here for a few years and so we constantly face the challenge of encouraging members to help support the church and for existing members to be faithful in their support.

The PGS leaflet can be downloaded from the Downloads section above.  Our stewardship campaign runs until October 31st 2010 when we ask you to bring your pledge form.  The gatheing of these forms will be a special part of the Sunday service. The form includes the opportunity to use the envelope scheme or to contribute via bank transfer as a means of regular giving if you do not already do so.  If you are a Dutch taxpayer, please ask for information about how to get a tax rebate on your giving.

We are quite sure that if everyone associated with our Church found themselves able to respond joyfully and thankfully, our Christian lives and the life of our church would be transformed.  That is our vision and we invite you to share it by taking a step in faith.
